The West Highland Way in Scotland

My name is Chard Lowden. Last year while Connie walked across England, I stayed home and nursed my back and posted her text messages on the website. This year we are fullfilling our long held dream of walking the West Highland Way.

The West Highland Way has been on my list of long distance walks since my father shared his interest in our Scottish ancestry with me. I have hiked many long trails in California and in 2002 I climbed the Southern Traverse of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. While I was in Africa, I found that the people there were a greater part of the adventure than I expected and I was captivated by their spirit. It seemed fitting for me to join Connie in supporting Project Africa by walking in Scotland.

This second walk for Project Africa is important because the needs of the children in Namibia and at home in Sonoma County continue to grow. As prices increase and grants become harder to obtain, grass roots fundraising projects like this are vital for these children. Please join us in helping to support these two programs. Donate now!

Visit the Project Africa website to learn more about the needs of children in Namibia and how your donation helps them to survive and grow.
